A Thursday fire has destroyed a mobile home in Harrison, according to a news release from Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services.

A neighbor noticed flames coming from the home on the 6000 block of Massengale Hollow Road at around 11 p.m. Once at the scene, Highway 58 volunteer firefighters managed to lay over 1,000 feet of hose line in order to get to the home, which sat half a mile off the main road.

Fire officials are unclear on whether anyone was home when the fire started. Vehicles were parked on the property, but the home was considered unsafe for firefighters to enter in order to search for victims, the release states.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will return to the scene Friday to confirm if anyone died in the fire. No injuries were reported Thursday and no information was provided on the property owner.

The cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.
