Task force busts 5, probation officer arrests 2 on meth charges in LaFayette, Ga.

The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force charged five people with possession of methamphetamine after a search Wednesday.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, DTF Agent Dewayne Brown was investigating a property at 2563 E. Highway 136 in LaFayette. That is in the Naomi community, next to York Road. Brown said he received consent to search a home where 52-year-old William Anderson Young and 50-year-old Sunny Bonds Sturr lived.

Inside the home, Brown said he found two sets of digital scales and a plastic container with methamphetamine inside. The affidavit does not specify how much of the drug he found.

“When Young and Sturr was asked about it,” Brown wrote, “they stated they were junkies and both used the meth” that was found in the home.

Brown said he then searched a nearby camper. Inside, he found three people: 23-year-old Brandon Hill, 33-year-old Michael Anthony Copeland and 39-year-old Stephanie Lynn Lively.
