A status hearing this morning in Hamilton County Criminal Court confirmed that the Jan. 25 trial date for a 20-year-old murder suspect is on schedule.
Montez Davis is scheduled for trial in the shooting death of 42-year-old Jonathan Lawrence.
Chattanooga police arrested Davis in connection with the Jan. 9 shooting at the Kanku’s store on 3440 Wilcox Boulevard.
Davis is free on bond and will have another status hearing on Jan. 10.
