The Mountain Business Association is being revitalized and putting a new board in place.

“We have new energy,” said new president Gretchen Richards.

She said the group plans to reach out to old members as well as new businesses to share the benefits of MBA membership, which include advertising and networking opportunities and special event participation.

The group is holding a kickoff meeting at the MACC Thursday, May 1. The time and further details are yet to be announced.

Along with Richards, the newly formed board includes vice president Keith Collins of At Your Service; membership coordinator Dr. Lena Van Horn of Signal Mountain Veterinary Clinic; treasurer Patrice Wishmyer of Keller Williams Realty; April Handy of The Olive Bean; Eric and Amy Opitach of Siren’s Seafood and Steak Market; Darrel Wyke of Signal Mountain Athletic Club; Betsy Martin of Life Care of Red Bank; and Mike Richards with Tennessee Home Improvement.

The group’s brand-new auxiliary board includes Linda and Joe Harris of Cutting Corners, Debby Buck of the MACC and Lynn Talbot of HR Business Solutions.

“We really want to reach out to members and hear their thoughts and what their needs are,” said Richards, adding that local businesses should be expecting informational emails and face-to-face visits from board members.
