Under the leadership of Grace Baptist Academy’s Middle School class president, Maddy Horton, eighth-grade officers and students ran a school-wide project “Your Change for Change in Haiti.” Students were asked to bring in their change and the first 100 received a soft drink as a “thank you” in return. Officially, $1,226.82 has been raised in the relief effort, and Maddy has continued to collect money at lunch each day to increase the gift.
What a wonderful demonstration of the student’s concern about others in distress – not just talking about it, but doing something. Way to go, Grace!
