East Ridge mayor seeks transparency

WHAT’S NEXTThe East Ridge City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at City Hall.

East Ridge Mayor Brent Lambert said he would lobby for a formal interview process “to ensure transparency” in choosing a candidate for a City Council seat that’s been vacant for a month.

However, it’s unclear whether the public will be able to observe those interviews.

“I’ll give the council an opportunity to do it either way,” he said.

Lambert’s announcement followed a public outcry against councilmen who said they would vote on the matter without a public vetting process.
