FUNDRAISER
HIGHLAND PLAZA United Methodist Preschool will hold its third annual StudioPendous – a children’s gallery showing and silent auction at Hixson United Methodist Church on March 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
According to event spokeswoman Katie McKenna, it’s the organization’s signature fundraising event of the year.
“It highlights the children’s research and work in our school,” McKenna said. “The live auction will feature creations by the children such as an Eric Carle-inspired nightstand and rocking chair based on the story “The Very Busy Spider,” as well as two Terry Cannon-inspired folk-art pieces made with recycled materials.”
Child care will be provided for children ages 2-9 during the auction, McKenna said. There will be a “musical petting zoo” where youngsters can get acquainted with dulcimers, banjos and other instruments.
