Nickajack Cave, considered one of the most important caves in the Tennessee Valley for endangered gray bats, will be the destination for participants in a “Beautiful Bats” program that starts at Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center, 400 Garden Road.
On Friday, June 24, naturalist Corey Hagen will give a brief talk at Reflection Riding starting at 7:15 p.m., and then the group will head to this wildlife refuge in Marion County to watch the bats’ nightly emergence to forage for night-flying insects.
Cost is free for members. Nonmembers pay $10 per adult, $7 per child.
