Editor’s note: Barry Courter has a 26-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 21-year-old daughter who is a senior in college. Each week he poses a question he wishes they would ask.

Q: Dad, I don’t see my friends from high school or college as much anymore. Is that normal?

A: Absolutely. People move away and meet new friends. They get real jobs with new obligations. They get married. And they have children. Most people are lucky if they see their old friends on any kind of a regular basis.
