Feds need to focus on 3 things, Sen. Isakson says

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., said today the federal government needs to focus on three things in order to correct deficit spending.

It needs to work on not spending more than it takes in, to prioritize which services get funding and and to give incentives to private business to speed up economic recovery, he said.

“If the people prosper, the government will prosper,” Sen. Isakson told the Catoosa County Chamber of Commerce.

Sen. Isakson is running for re-election and has no GOP opponent.

Michael Thurmond, the state labor commissioner, and former Rockdale County chief of staff R.J. Hadley are in the Democratic primary for the Senate seat.
