Tennessee tax collections rose in February to $782.5 million, or $25.8 million more than what the state budgeted for the month.
State Finance and Administration Commissioner Larry Martin said February marked the seventh consecutive month in the current fiscal year in which collections exceeded budgeted expectations.
“The renewed strength in our sales and corporate tax collections is an indication of an improving economy in Tennessee,” he said.
