Parents, students’ respect will boost academics

Since Dr. Bryan Johnson has been schools superintendent, we’ve spent tons of money to get new stationery and graphics for the website in rebranding our schools from the Hamilton County Department of Education to the Public Schools of Hamilton County. Goodness, why would the focus be on education, right?

Dr. Johnson jumped on the money wagon of UnifiEd that spends its time and energy to “have a conversation” about things like equity and social justice, instead of academic preparedness and classroom excellence.

Wake up! Hamilton County has failing schools because we’ve spent too much money propping-up excuses instead of facing the reality. If you want kids to learn, two things must happen. First, the parents must be involved. Second, the children must be respectful in the classroom to allow the teacher to teach. This liberal mess that has trickled out of the Obama Administration from some of his foot soldiers, who’ve turned up in Chattanooga running UnifiEd, will not address academic excellence.

We now have another excuse to avoid accountability that involves parents and students while blaming a local community, that has for years, poured tax dollars into failing schools.
