Redshirt freshman Michelle Davis on Tuesday became the latest member of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team to earn Southern Conference player of the week honors.
The 6-foot-2 forward from Cleveland scored a career-high 21 points in UTC’s 19-point win over UNC Greensboro on Monday, two days after finishing with 20 points and 19 rebounds in the Lady Mocs’ 19-point win over Elon on Saturday.
Davis joins seniors Shanara Hollinquest (three times) and Jenaya Wade-Fray (twice) as one of this season’s players of the week. She has scored in double figures in five of her last six games.
The Lady Mocs (17-6, 12-2) have won 12 straight games, and 15 of their last 16, yet their lead over the College of Charleston in the SoCon standings remains just one game.
Up next for UTC is a trip to Georgia Southern on Saturday.
