Kelley Adams offers a personal touch

photo Signal Mountain resident Kelley Adams can monogram everything from tote bags to towels.

To help fund her “girls trips” to Florida twice a year, Signal Mountain resident Kelley Adams uses her second favorite Christmas present she’s ever received – a monogram machine (her first favorite is her German Shepherd).

“I had a friend with a monogramming machine, and they’re not cheap,” said Adams. “My husband surprised me one year by getting the machine, and I’ve more than enjoyed it.”

She can monogram just about anything that will fit on the machine, from sheets and towels to jackets and tote bags.

“Towel pillows are my new favorite,” said Adams, who made matching monogrammed towel pillows, beach bags and towels for all the “girls” she travels to Florida with each May and October. “People like personalized things, because it’s hard to find things with their names on it spelled right. You can take the cheapest gift in the world and put their name on it and they love it.”

Customers can see how the design will print beforehand using Adams’ computer program.

She sells her monogrammed items, such as dog collars and key chains, at local stores Accents, 12 Paws and Adams Automotive (the latter is owned by her husband Steve).

Customers also drop off and pick up items to be monogrammed at Friends and Company Salon and Boutique in East Ridge, where Adams has been a stylist for more than 20 years.
