TBI captures Chattanooga fugitive

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service captured one of TBI’s Top Ten most-wanted fugitives, a Chattanooga man, in Nashville Tuesday.

Officers found George Walter Glenn, 35, hiding underneath a house on Lischey Avenue in Nashville around 12:30 p.m. Police were led to the home after receiving tips from Chattanooga about Mr. Glenn’s whereabouts, said TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm.

“We had information that he was in a house, not his residence, but a residence of someone he knew,” Ms. Helm said. “When they got there, they knew he was hiding, and he finally came out.”

Mr. Glenn, whose last known address was 1208 Wheeler Ave., was wanted by the Chattanooga Police Department on one count of criminal homicide. He was involved in an altercation with a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed and killed on Dec. 20, according to Ms. Helm.

The TBI added Mr. Glenn to its most-wanted list on Jan. 11. He is being held at the Nashville-Davidson Metro Jail.

Lt. Kim Noorbergen, spokeswoman for the Chattanooga Police Department, said Mr. Glenn will be brought back to the city within the next 10 days for a probable-cause hearing. At that time a court date will be set, she said.
