Fleischmann hopes to use committee posts to help business fight “burdensome federal government”

U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., announced today that he has been assigned to the two subcommittees of the House Committee on Small Business.

The freshman congressman will serve on the Agriculture, Energy and Trade, Healthcare and Technology panel and the subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access.

Fleischmann, who billed himself during his campaign last year as a small businessman and the owner of a Chattanooga law firm, said his committee assignments will allow him “to continue my work on behalf of small business owners across America.

“As someone who operated a small business for over 24 years, I understand the hardships many owners are going through and their desire to return to simply creating jobs and generating capital – not dealing with an over-burdensome federal government,” he said.

Fleischmann said he wants “to create a business friendly environment that involves much more direction from entrepreneurs and much less direction from the federal government.”
