Jarod Green, 28; Scott Wilkey, 28; John Roach, 37; Thomas McKeehan, 38; and Jodi Graham, 41, each were charged with initiating manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing meth for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia, police spokeswoman Lt. Kim Noorbergen said.
The suspects are being held in the Hamilton County Jail pending initial court appearances.
Last night around 9:30 officers responded to 5216 Tanner Ave. after a report of a suspicious person or activity, Lt. Noorbergen said.
They saw someone run into the residence, and when they approached they saw smoke coming from the home, she said.
Fearful that lives were in danger, the officers asked those inside to get out of the house. They then saw a male lying face down on the floor and immediately pulled him to safety, Lt. Noorbergen said.
When they went back in the home to check further, one of the officers saw red phosphorus and other items used in making meth and realized they had entered a working lab, she said.
Lt. Noorbergen said the officers vacated the house and called for more units, a supervisor and narcotics officers.
She said the two initially responding officers complained of dizziness and shortness of breath and were taken to Erlanger hospital for evaluation. Both were treated and are at home recovering, the lieutenant said.
