Your Friday at a glance:
- Weather: High of 89 with increased cloud cover and a possible stray shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon.
- Where to eat: Sluggo’s, whose dining room reopened with a revamped look this week.
- What we’re watching: A North Georgia teacher will be thanked by her former student turned country music star Lauren Alaina on Friday’s episode of “Secret Celebrity Renovation.”
- What we’re excited about: Who doesn’t like free money? The city of Chattanooga is incentivizing county residents to get their COVID-19 vaccines through a new $1,000 sweepstakes.
Hello Good Day readers!
My name is Tierra Hayes, and starting next week, I’ll be officially taking over Good Day, Chattanooga!
While I have freelanced for the Times Free Press for the past few years, I’ve been a full-time web producer/reporter for exactly six months this week. I’m a native of Athens, Georgia (Go Bulldogs!), but after attending Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, I decided sticking around wouldn’t be a bad thing at all. Very little can compare to the scenery, the food and the people here in Chattanooga.
My job, and that of my colleagues, isn’t just to write about the Chattanooga community – we are a part of it. We are your neighbors and are personally invested in its wellbeing. This newsletter is meant to highlight the best of the best that the area has to offer.
