DES MOINES, Ia. – Indiana shot 65 percent from the field in defeating the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga 99-74 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
The Mocs (29-6) played well, but the Hoosiers (26-7) played great, taking advantage of any and every mistake made by their opponent in advancing to face the winner of the Kentucky-Stony Brook game on Saturday.
Yogi Ferrell finished with 20 points and 10 assists. The second-team All-American dissected the Mocs, penetrating gaps for layups, making three 3-pointers and finding every open player. Five Hoosiers finished in double figures.
The Mocs, who shot 48 percent from the floor were led by Duke Ethridge’s 16 points. Justin Tuoyo had 12 and Dee Oldham finished with 10.
