Two men have arrested in Trion, Ga., after a citizen tip regarding a slew of armed robberies that have occurred in Chattooga, Walker, Floyd and Whitfield counties.
According to a release, the tip came in on Sunday and a follow up of that information led law enforcement to the Carousel Inn in Trion.
Motel guests were evacuated and the room was placed under surveillance while a search warrant was acquired.
The occupants ignored attempts at contact from the police so officers entered the room, found methamphetamine and placed the occupants under arrest.
Police also found a firearm which fits the description of the weapon used in several of the robberies.
