I don’t know who Bubba is, but Turkuaz wants you to let him slide.
“Bubba Slide” is a song thrown down by the nine-piece Brooklyn-based funk band and it showcases the tight vocals and funky rhythms the nine-piece Brooklyn-based funk band throws down. And they throw it down hard.
Turkuaz, described by bestnewbands.com as “like tossing a lit match into a dumpster full of fireworks,” is like Sly Stone joined the Talking Heads and Pharrell produced the record.
This might be my pick of the whole festival and I certainly think they will be one of the bands people are talking about for awhile. You’ll hear strains of pop, R&B, heavy funk and soul on top of smart rhythms and melodies. And it will make you shake everything God gave you and more.
Whatever they are doing, it’s way groovy.
