The two women who were stabbed in Cleveland on Saturday night were a woman who had a child with the suspect and her mother, Cleveland police spokeswoman Evie West said.
Chrissy Bean, 21, and her mother, Karen Sue Rhodes, 38, remained in critical condition at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga, West said.
A third stabbing victim was a neighbor, Dennis Grissom, who had come to the apartment at 2086 Wynwood Drive after hearing arguing. Grissom’s injuries were not critical, West said.
Bean and Vicente Ramirez Fernandez had been in a relationship and had a child together, West said. She called the attack domestic violence but no details about motive were released.
Police arrested Fernandez in the apartment shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
