Memorial associates record Christmas CD as fundraiser

A trio of Memorial Health Care associates have recorded a Christmas CD, “Songs for the Season,” to raise money for the purchase of a new Mobile Health Coach for Memorial’s outreach programs.

Joy Kirby, Melissa Tinker and Donna Wilson have been singing for years, but they combined their talents for the purpose of helping the Memorial Foundation.

“We are excited about the opportunity to use our talents to help raise money for the Foundation, and this is something we’ve thought about doing for a long time,” said Tinker, who coordinated the project.

The Christmas CD is $15 and may be purchased from the Memorial Foundation, the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center, or from one of the trio.

Kirby is executive assistant to Brad Pope, vice president of human resources, and Melissa Roden, vice president of quality. She sings tenor and lead on “Please Come Home for Christmas” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.”

Tinker is executive assistant to Joe Robb, executive director of cancer services, and Lisa Harrison, executive director of ambulatory services. The alto sings lead on “Christmas Waltz,” “Heirlooms,” “We Need a Little Christmas” and “The Lights on Mama’s Tree,” a song she wrote.

Wilson is volunteer coordinator and assistant to Jean Payne, director of volunteer services. The soprano sings lead on “O Holy Night,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Silent Night.”

The CD also includes “The Christmas Song” and “Blue Christmas” featuring local talent Michael Smith.

For $25, shoppers will receive a copy of “Songs for the Season” plus Jay Craven’s “Christmas Melodies for Memorial.”

Craven’s CDs are available at Memorial’s gift shops or online at www.memorial.org/foundation.
