Trump environment agenda all wrong

If you choose to stand behind Trump, you are standing against our environment. As one of the few deniers of climate change, he will have the power to impose his anti-environmental agenda onto the world.

Did you stand behind him when he pulled America out of the Paris Agreement on climate? Just recently, a report from the International Panel of Climate Change warned the world that carbon “reduction” must be reached by 2030.

Trump is determined to push fossil fuels for his friends. Obama’s clean air and water initiatives are in the crosshairs.

Trump is proposing to roll back emission standards and loosen rules on methane and mercury releases into our environment. Through resignations and budget cuts, he has fragmented the EPA, undermining its authority.

Air pollution contributes to 4.2 million premature deaths globally per year. Fossil fuels must be history, not our future. We have the technology for cleaner energy. It’s a tragedy we are not using it.

In 2016, three million more voted against Trump’s agenda. We need those votes to come back and put oversight in Washington to stop this man’s disregard for the future of our children.

Republicans are a party of opposition

GOP platform of opposition:

Weaken clean air and clean water regulations; deny climate change; oppose women’s right to choose, minimum wage increase, equal pay for women, unions, DACA and comprehensive immigration plan, and major gun reform.

Oppose a balanced budget, national debt reduction, mandated fuel economy improvements and fair and equitable tax reductions for middle class. Ignores White House administrators flying coach (like the rest of us) and pricey furniture purchases (remember the $31,000 dining room). Oppose formal education improvements (when did you last hear the word education?), oppose protections for endangered animals. Challenge and attack our free press.

Against select Muslim and African- American countries, current laws protecting us from big banks, free trade, select state parks and park maintenance, adding Medicaid funds for disabled, poor children.

Support privatization of Social Security.

Oppose term limits for Congress.

Great progress?

Wake up and face Trump’s delusions

There was a time when I attributed delusion and denial only to those addicted to alcohol and drugs. I have since learned that others, including entire populations, fall into the same trap. It happened in Germany.

Trump’s claim that our free press is “the enemy of the people” mirrors the same charge of Communist Russia’s Stalin, who did what Trump would like for the press to become, the controlled voice of himself. He denies facts of science and our intelligence agencies, instead wanting his views exclusively presented by the media.

We have as our president an admirer of dictators with blind trust in Putin and Kim Jong-un. He attacked NATO and offended our allies. The late Sen. John McCain, a war hero if ever there was one, was insulted again by Trump while suffering from an illness from which he never recovered. Let those in delusion deny this fact.

He was warned in advance that a plan was essential but ignored the warning, resulting in refugee children separated from their mothers and thrown into cages. His cruelty and incompetence are being recorded for future historians but are not recognized by those in delusion and denial.
