Nine crews battle house fire
CHATTANOOGA – The Chattanooga Fire Department fought a major blaze in a house in the 1200 block of O’Grady Drive in Lookout Valley on Sunday.
No one was home at the time of the fire. It took nine fire companies 45 minutes to get the fire in the two-story house under control, according to a news release.
The release said the home’s tin roof made firefighting difficult and the house suffered extensive damage. Firefighters tried to attack the blaze from inside, but heavy fire and structural instability led to them being pulled out, the release stated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no dollar amount for property damage had been set as of Sunday evening.
