A Monday afternoon crash has left one man dead and another injured, according to Chattanooga police.

A Ford Taurus, driven by 61-year-old Gerard Leo, was traveling south on South Holtzclaw Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. when he drove through a red light at the intersection of Bailey Avenue and was hit by a Volvo S60.

The Volvo S60, driven by 62-year-old Jerome Golson, had the green light when it struck the Ford Taurus in a “t-bone” manner as it entered the intersection.

Emergency personnel pronounced Leo dead at the scene.

Golson was taken to a local hospital for treatment, though the extent of his injuries is not known. No charges have been filed against him.
