THIS WEEK IN EDUCATION NEWS
Election season is officially underway – even in the education scene.
Candidates for local elections like school board were able to start sticking their names in the hat on Feb. 3 by picking up nominating petitions from the Hamilton County Elections Commission.
They have until April 2 to actually qualify to have their name on the August ballot, but at least two Hamilton County school board members have indicated that they are running for re-election.
Board members Rhonda Thurman, of District 1, and Kathy Lennon, of District 2, both filed papers Monday, according to information from the county election commission.
And Lennon isn’t the only one running. Former Red Bank Mayor John Roberts is also running for the District 2 seat.
Find out who else is running for re-election here.
