A Ringgold woman has been arrested on a charge of armed robbery in the holdup Friday of the First National Bank in Tunnel Hill, Ga.
Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said in a news release that a caller’s tip led to the arrest of Marcey Carole Horner, 37, of 73 Timberland Trail in Ringgold.
Chitwood said his investigators, along with Catoosa County and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents, went to the neighborhood that the caller described and found a black Dodge Ram truck in a driveway that looked similar to the suspect’s getaway vehicle.
The sheriff said Horner agreed to go to the sheriff’s office for questioning and was placed under arrest there. Her home was searched and money taken in the robbery was recovered along with other evidence, he said.
Horner is being held without bond in the Whitfield County Jail.
