Outrageous Obama red ink

Nobody wants higher taxes. Taxes are already too high. But President Barack Obama is engaged in so much extravagant spending that the federal government has run $431 billion deeper in debt in just the past four months!

Do you want higher taxes to cover that red-ink spending? Do you want higher taxes to cover President Obama’s projected $1.56 trillion deficit for the whole year?

Since higher taxes obviously are not desired, there should be a popular demand for less federal spending to avoid higher taxes and growing debt. But the irresponsible Obama plan is to spend more than $1 trillion a year in red ink for at least the next three years.

The national debt already is about $12.4 trillion, on which taxpayers have to pay a tremendous burden in interest. Is it responsible to add more than a trillion dollars a year to that burden year after year?

President Obama does not offer any plan for balanced budgets — ever. The American people certainly do not want higher taxes. So what’s the solution? The obvious responsible answer is to start reducing federal spending, especially since much spending is to buy votes, and much of it is for unconstitutional things that the federal government should not be doing.

But with President Obama in the White House and Democrat majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate, the prospect is for ruinous growth of federal debt to continue, adding a bigger burden on the American people.

Isn’t it past time to reverse course?
