Georgia: No bond for suspects in kidnapping

MARIETTA, Ga. – Two men were ordered held without bond on charges they kidnapped a 4-year-old boy in an alleged ransom attempt.

Jonathan Martinez Tapia and Jair Garcia Cruz were held without bond Monday after a brief hearing. The two are charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, cruelty to children and attempted extortion.

Authorities say the two attacked the boy’s mother Thursday morning with a stun gun at her home, bound her, then left with Christian Guevera, demanding $100,000 for his return. The boy was found safe Thursday afternoon in a Gwinnett County apartment complex.
