Officers are seeking two men who robbed a north Georgia convenience store this morning.
Fort Oglethorpe Police Chief David Eubanks said the department received a call reporting the crime at the Kangaroo Express at 4257 Cloud Springs Road at 3:40 a.m. Officers at the scene say the two unidentified robbers shot a man outside the store, walked inside and stole money from the cash register as well as from a customer.
The men left the store, Eubanks said, opening fire at a vehicle before running toward Cloud Springs Road and Interstate 75.
The shooting victim was hit in the leg. Eubanks said the injury is not considered life threatening. The man told officers that the robbers didn’t say a word to him before one of them fired.
“They didn’t tell him, ‘Get out of the way,'” Eubanks said. “They didn’t say, ‘Stick up.’ They didn’t say anything. They just shot him.”
This is a developing story.
