The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team picked up its second commitment for the 2017 signing class over the weekend when 6-foot-3 center Rochelle Lee made her nonbinding pledge to the program.
Lee, who’s from the Memphis area, spent her first two high school seasons at Southwind before playing last season at Germantown’s Houston High.
She helped the Lady Mustangs to a school-record 27 wins and the Region 8-AAA semifinals.
“I would like to thank everyone who has shown my family the utmost respect throughout my recruitment. With that being said I’m proud to say I will further my basketball career at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga #GOMOCS,” she posted on her Twitter profile.
Lee also had offers from Arkansas-Little Rock, Austin Peay, Louisiana Tech and Mississippi Valley State. UTC’s previous commitment for its 2017 recruiting class is Baylor School senior Mya Long, a 5-foot-9 guard. Arianne Whitaker, a 6-foot-4 transfer from Winthrop, will redshirt this season.
