Good morning and happy Labor Day, Chattanooga!
When I was a kid, I went to public school in four-wall rooms with a teacher and desks filled with my peers. I loved just about every second of it because the educational opportunities in my city’s schools were perfect for me.
While my experience was a good fit, many families are exploring other options. In recent years and especially amid the pandemic, there has been a rise in interest in non-traditional schooling.
“From the much-discussed ‘pandemic pods’ (small groups of students gathering outside a formal school setting for in-person instruction) to a reported influx of parent inquiries about stand-alone virtual schools, private schools and homeschooling organizations, American parents are increasingly open to options beyond the neighborhood school,” the U.S. Census Bureau reported.
