Two people on a motorcycle were killed and another motorist was injured in a Wednesday crash on U.S. Highway 64 in Polk County.
Robert E. Coblentz, 59, and Michelle A. Coblentz, 57, both of Wilmington, Ohio, died when their 2004 Harley-Davidson collided with a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon, driven by Ryan Lee Ehbar, 27, of McCaysville, Ga., according to a crash report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Ehbar’s vehicle was traveling westbound, veered onto the shoulder, overcorrected and crossed the road’s center line, striking the eastbound-traveling motorcycle head on, the report states. The two on the motorcycle were ejected and later pronounced dead.
Ehbar was flown to Erlanger hospital and later released, police said.
The report indicates that criminal charges are pending.
