The driver in a single-motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 27 this evening will likely be released from Erlanger hospital tonight, Chattanooga police say.
Investigators closed two lanes of traffic this evening around 6 p.m. while investigating the crash in the 100 block of the southbound highway, according to a news release.
Evidence at the scene showed that the motorcycle rider, Christopher Hancock, 23, struck a concrete traffic barrier and was thrown from the motorcycle. He had been attempting to negotiate the curve as he approached the Fourth Street exit and lost control of his Honda CBR 600, the release said.
