photo Until his recent cancer diagnosis, Louis Clark showed up to work every day with a smile on his face and never complained about any task asked of him, said brother-in-law Steven Allert, who has started a GoFundMe campaign in Clark’s honor.

Louis Clark’s motto for life has been “Treat people the way you want to be treated.”

After trying to live that for so long, he is now relying on others to return the favor. Just before Christmas, he got some life-changing news: He has Stage 3 liver cell carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Clark’s family and friends have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help him continue his treatments.

“The medication that is being given is very costly and is not being covered by insurance at this time,” the page reads. “The medication is so expensive that he is only able to purchase two or three pills at a time. With all the stress and worry on him right now, we want to help alleviate at least one burden for him by raising enough money that he will not have to worry about paying for his medical needs.”

Many may be familiar with Clark, affectionately known as Capt. Lou. Steven Allert, Clark’s brother-in-law and founder of the GoFundMe campaign in his honor, said many former students and parents may remember Capt. Lou from his time as head custodian at Lakeview Middle School, where he spent 19 years, or from his most recent position of head custodian at Battlefield Elementary.
