Two events this weekend offer a chance to explore Greenway Farm in Hixson from the water.
* Saturday: Outdoor Chattanooga and the Tennessee Aquarium will present a touring kayak clinic for beginners from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will learn proper paddling techniques, how to adjust, enter and exit a boat, safety guidelines and, perhaps most importantly, what to do if the kayak turns over. The clinic is appropriate for adults and youths 14 and older when accompanied by an adult.
Class size is limited to 25. Cost is $25 ($20 for aquarium members). Registration is required. Call 265-0695.
* Sunday: A family canoe trip on the quiet waters of North Chickamauga Creek, planned 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, will let participants get up close and personal with creek critters.
The trip is appropriate for adults and children 5 and older when accompanied by an adult. Cost is $16 for ages 5-12, $20 for adults. All equipment is included. For more information, call 265-0695.
