Too much green beer can you make see all kinds of things, including leprechauns apparently, but mummies?
On Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day, Here Come the Mummies will bring their 5,000-year-old funk to The Signal with local favorites The Power Players opening.
The band has become touring favorites since being discovered several years ago. Shrouded in mystery, and a bunch of gauze, it’s been rumored that they are all well-respected Nashville musicians who choose to remain anonymous.
Their talent is little in doubt by anyone who has seen or heard them play. They’ve toured with such living notables as P-Funk, Al Green and Cheap Trick.
The eight-piece band has become a local favorite over the years, having played shows at Nightfall, Riverbend, local clubs and fundraisers. They’ve also played most of the bigger festivals including Common Ground, Voodoo Fest, Musikfest and Summerfest.
