A Delicious Mash-up

On a trip to visit my best friend in Montreal last fall, I was confronted with some interesting storefront mash-ups. In what is one of Canada’s most metropolitan cities, the high cost of rent has driven seemingly incongruous tenants to share space: an aesthetician and a lingerie store, for example. (Though one might argue this pairing is actually a match made in heaven.)

Nate Michaels has developed what he hopes is Chattanooga’s own answer to overhead costs for would-be restaurateurs, and I’m pretty excited to see his solution come to life later this month. Rather than businesses sharing storefronts, his plan will marry brews and bites, with his new Five Wits Brewery offering a space for a rotating selection of young chefs. Talk about a match made in heaven.
