Two influenza deaths have been confirmed in North Georgia, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Both victims were middle age, and there is no evidence that either person had ever received an influenza vaccination, a news release states.

The deaths occurred in the North Georgia Health District, comprised of Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens and Whitfield counties.
