There’s going to be a big impact on traffic when the city of Red Bank closes a section of Ashland Terrace for repairs in late October.
The city said in a news release it is going to have to repair a culvert connecting Ashland Terrace to Dayton Boulevard. City engineers decided to remove the existing culvert and replace it with a reinforced concrete structural box culvert.
Work is expected to start Oct. 24 and will last 30 to 45 days. During that time, Ashland Terrace will be closed to all traffic from Dayton Boulevard to Tacoma Avenue.
“The city asks your patience during construction as detouring traffic around the intersection of Ashland Terrace at Dayton Boulevard will be challenging,” Interim City Manager Tim Thornbury said in the release.
However, he added, “the difficulties the closure creates far outweigh the potential consequences of an unanticipated structural failure.”
The necessary improvement to the road will impact traffic and potentially create long delays along Dayton Boulevard. For more information and updates about this project, including detour maps and alternate routes, go to: https://www.redbanktn.gov or http://ashlandterraceproject.com.
