Crews are disconnecting street lights along Highway 27 from the Interstate 24 interchange to south of the Olgiati Bridge as reconstruction of the highway continues.

Earlier this week, crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation removed poles along a portion of the 1.6-mile stretch, and plans are to remove the remainder of the poles in the next several days, according to a news release from TDOT.

The project area will remain without street lights until new ones are installed during the latter stages of the project, which is scheduled to be finished in July 2019.

Motorists are advised to use caution as they travel through the construction area, particularly at night.
