Two trains in Dalton collided early this morning, sending five cars off the tracks, officials said.
There were no injuries reported in the incident, which occurred about 3:30 this morning, Whitfield County Sheriff’s officials said.
The CSX trains had been instructed to stop, Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chittwood said.
One train was able to stop. The other did not and struck the other train at about 10 mph, the sheriff said.
