ATHENS, Tenn. — The rest of the Bradley Central basketball team challenged post Hunter Chastain to perform in the second half of the Bears’ District 5-AAA game Tuesday night at McMinn County.
He answered.
Chastain followed Bryce Copeland’s 16-point first half with 17 points in the second half, and the Bears gained an important victory by defeating the Cherokees 66-61.
Chastain finished with 19 points, nearly matching Copeland’s 20. Miles Morgan added 13 as Bradley improved to 6-3 in the district and dropped McMinn County to 8-3 in 5-AAA.
“The guys told Hunter they need him to win this game,” Bradley coach Kent Smith said. “He responded, and so did Miles.”
