A federal grand jury on Tuesday returned a nine-count indictment charging a 44-year-old Hixson tax preparer with helping prepare and present false federal income tax returns to the Internal Revenue Service, a news release states.
Kevin Mendell Walker, owner of K&R Enterprises, is charged with aiding and assisting with the filing of nine false tax returns that claimed deductions and amounts the taxpayers were not entitled to claim, according to the release from the office of U.S. Attorney Bill Killian.
If convicted, Walker faces up to three years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000.
