She was named a Champion of the Arts in 2009 by Congress and by the Art Council of Monterey County, Calif. She and her husband toured the country in 2010 offering free arts-enrichment programs in 17 cities.
Dennis Heckler has a life-long passion for art, which can be traced back to his days in preschool. Heckler seeks to bring everyday places into view through lighting, color and thickly applied paint. His resulting work as an interesting effect of making viewers more aware of their surroundings.
