Tick, tick, tick.
Hey kids, the clock is running on the Times Free Press’ annual Wrapping Paper Contest. Entries on 8-1/2- by 11-inch paper must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday. You can bring them by the paper or mail them to: Chattanooga Times Free Press, 400 E. 11th St., Chattanooga TN 37403.
Students from first through fifth grades are eligible to enter, and the winner will be contacted by Tuesday, Nov. 29. Then, on Sunday, Dec. 11, the winner will be featured in a story on the front of the Life section with the winning design included as a real sheet of wrapping paper inside the newspaper.
The winner also is awarded an arts package and a goody bag from co-sponsors ArtsBuild and Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block. Plus there’s a $25 cash prize. And the design will be available as a choice in Hamilton Place mall at the Kids on the Block gift-wrapping stations from Friday, Dec. 9, through Christmas Eve.
Along with official judges making their selection, readers get to pick their favorite design through online voting, which runs from Wednesday, Nov. 30, through Tuesday, Dec. 6.
