Restaurant inspector dings McDonald’s for insects, unclean utensils and dirty surfaces

A restaurant inspector dinged a McDonald’s on Browns Ferry Road and several other restaurants this week for insects and dirty food surfaces, according to a report obtained by the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

During a visit to the McDonald’s at 156 Browns Ferry Road, an inspector observed insects, utensils that were not properly cleaned or stored, as well as dirty food surfaces. The restaurant received a 75 on its report card.

Insects were also observed at the Family Table on 3904 Ringgold Road, which received an 83, and at the Azteca Cafe & Bakery at 1601 E. 23 Street.

The inspector also gave out two perfect scores: A 100 to Paco’s Express Dogs and More at 9823 Hixson Pike, and Salsarita’s at Northgate Mall. The Subway at 5231 Highway 153 came close, scoring a 99 out of a possible 100.
