UPDATE: I-24 East lanes are closed due to a multiple-car crash near Whiteside at mile marker 164 and an additional multiple-car crash near mile marker 162.
The first wreck at mile marker 164 was reported at 3:42 p.m. eastern. The estimated time for the accident to be cleared was delayed and is currently 7 p.m. eastern. The right lane is blocked.
The accident at mile marker 162 was reported at 5:39 p.m. eastern and resulted in the left lane being blocked. The estimated time for the accident to be cleared is also 7 p.m. eastern.
Traffic traveling westbound is currently delayed due to rubbernecking, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
