LOOKOUTS 2, GENERALS 1
Saturday’s recap: Kohl Stewart (9-6) and Randy LeBlanc pitched masterfully as visiting Chattanooga knocked off the Southern League’s North Division first-half champions, Stewart giving up three hits in six innings and LeBlanc allowing no hits and striking out four batters in the final three, but Montgomery clinched the second-half title with a 3-2 home win over Tennessee. The Lookouts are in second place but three games behind the Biscuits with only two to play. Singles by Engelb Vielma and Niko Goodrum and Edgar Corcino’s double put Chattanooga up 1-0 in the first inning, and Goodrum singled to lead off the fourth and broke a 1-1 tie on Stuart Turner’s sacrifice fly.
Next up: Game four of a five-game series in Jackson, Tenn., is today at 3:05 p.m. EDT.
Pitchers: Ryan Eades (6-5, 4.44 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Paul Blackburn (9-5, 3.27) scheduled for the Generals.
